Using a fold-down rise fitted cloth diaper involves a few steps to ensure a proper fit for your baby. Here’s a general guide to help you:
-
Prepare the Diaper: Lay out the fitted cloth diaper on a flat surface.
-
If you're using boosters, this is where you will lay or snap them in. You may need to fold them down to create a smaller length.
-
Lay the baby over the diaper.
-
Adjust the Rise: Our fold-down rise diapers have snaps to adjust the rise. Pull the diaper up onto the baby’s waist. Determine how small you need the diaper to be by folding down the rise to the appropriate level. You want to fold this down to just below the belly button.
-
If your baby is newborn or small, fold down the front of the diaper to the lowest setting.
-
You may not need to fold-down the rise on a bigger baby, just simply skip to the next step.

-
Secure the Diaper: Once you’ve adjusted the rise, secure the diaper around your baby's waist.
-
Using the snap closures, fasten the snaps securely, ensuring a snug fit but not too tight to avoid discomfort. Two fingers width is a good starting point.
-
Check the Fit: Check around your baby’s legs and waist to make sure there are no gaps where leaks could occur. You'll want the leg elastic tucked into the underwear line. The diaper should fit snugly but comfortably.
-
Add a Cover: This step is optional but needed to make the diaper waterproof. You can choose to use without, but you make get leaks!
